Young Learner courses & Summer Courses
The CfBT Oman British Training Institute offers courses for children between the ages of 6–17. The courses are divided into three broad age groups 6-9, 10-13, & 14-17. Before the courses start, Young Learners are tested and put into an appropriate level according to their knowledge of English. We promote an enjoyable and creative learning environment which helps the children to develop the four essential language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
We offer:
- a maximum number of 16 children per class.
- well-qualified & experienced teachers of English.
- individual attention from the teacher.
- an exclusively English–speaking environment in the classroom.
- computer facilities to develop language skills.
Course options:
- Thursday classes: 08.30-11.30 or 12.00-15.00 (depending on the student's level)
- 30 hours over 10 weeks
- Course fee: R.O.125
- Weekday classes: Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 16.00-18.00
- 30 hours over 5 weeks
- Course fee: R.O.125
Global Education course:
- Wednesday classes: 16.00-18.30
- 25 hours over 10 weeks
- Course fee: R.O.80
Note: Children must be 12 years old or older and have at least an Elementary level command of English to be accepted for this course.
Summer Programme
We also run intensive 30-hour SUMMER COURSES during the school holidays from June to August. There are three consecutive cycles of summer courses. Young Learners attend 1 hour and 30 minutes for five days each week.
Transport from the surrounding neighborhoods is offered for these summer courses.Placement Test
If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) on our Young Learner courses it is essential that they take a Placement Test. We can then place them in a group appropriate to their current level of English. In the interests of good customer care, Placement Tests sessions are held before the start of courses. The dates of these sessions will be advertised in the local press. Alternatively, you can confirm them by phoning the CfBT Oman office. A fee of R.O.5 is charged for the Placement Test.
Course fees:
30-hour Summer Programme: R.O.125 for one course, R.O.240 for two courses and '15-hour Special Course R.O.70'.
